Have you ever woken up Christmas morning for something totally unexpected to happen? QA Kitchens in Telford can’t stress enough the importance of planning and preparing in advance to ensure a stress free festive season.  They offer some great tips on how to avoid Christmas disasters:

  1. Keep recipes simple – save complicated recipes for the rest of the year, keeping your Christmas fare fuss free!
  2. Take time to brainstorm your Christmas menu e.g. write down menu ideas beforehand, this will help avoid timing disasters.
  3. Search the internet and recipe books for inspiration and don’t try to do everything yourself.
  4. Do a trial run with your oven to determine temperatures and cooking times before attempting the turkey roast.
  5. If you like to have flowers in your house over Christmas, purchase those that are long lasting and top up their water often.
  6. Prepare your Christmas pudding, Christmas Cakes and Mince Pies ahead of time – this will also help you get into the Christmas spirit.
  7.  Monitor your stress levels and give yourself some time out.
  8. Delegate! You must have family members who want to feel helpful, don’t be afraid to give them a job.
  9. Decorate the house but keep it simple.  Homemade decorations are always a nice touch.
  10. Clear out space in your fridge – whether it be for left overs or food gifts from friends.

Hope you find these tips helpful.

Have a great time and a very merry Christmas!!!
