We hear about and see so much of the dangers our armed forces are facing today and the sacrifices they are making - the ultimate sacrifice in too many cases.

These are our blokes - our men and women of the armed forces and we owe them so much.

What can we do to help?

Well if I said go and watch a game of Footy do you think that would be too much to ask?

Simmonds Transport XI - managed by AFC Telford's Ryan Young and Dean Williams.

BBC/ Jobcentre XI -managed by AFC Telford's Gavin Cowan and Danny Edwards

20th September 2009

Kick off 1pm

AFC Telford United, New Bucks Stadium, Watling Street, Wellington.

It's about Dereck, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it's about Carl who's jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw.

It's about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on a stretcher so that he could say goodbye to his wife.

It's about Ben, it's about Andy and Steven and Mark.

They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes.

The teams are unimportant, the players hardly known, BUT the cause is a worthy one.

Just go and watch a game of footy - not too much to ask is it?

Free admission with donations on the door

Club bar open for refreshments.
