A Telford hotel has invested £25,000 to make sure guests are never left without heating or hot water.
Rather than risking being a victim of the elements, the management team at Buckatree Hall Hotel in Wellington has had a new generator installed which can be used as a back-up in an emergency.
The generator means there will always be running water and electricity at the hotel, no matter what is going on outside, and service can continue as normal for all guests.
General manager Wayne Jenson said: “The generator is huge, around the size of a small car!
“It’s already proving its worth though and has been put to good use. We were notified there was some emergency tree cutting happening in the area so the power supply needed to be turned off.
“But we were able to start the generator before that happened so we were completely unaffected.
“I’m sure there will be similar situations in the future which will see us relying on the generator.
“We believe the investment is well worth it as we don’t want our guests to ever be impacted by weather or maintenance work happening outside of the hotel.
“People stay with us for a relaxing break so it’s part of our duty to ensure their experience is not dampened by a lack of water or electricity.”
