Wonderful to see the magnificent Low Ham mosaic perfectly laid out and not behind glass, plus the moving material about its discovery (think 'The Dig'). Military aficionados (and probably small boys) will also love the Light Infantry exhibition, including to my amazement actual material from the Zulu Wars (yes, including an assegai or two). No sign of Michael Caine, but still. Dragged away to the really nice and friendly courtyard cafe, but desperate to get back and see everything else.

Wonderful museum. All exhibits presented in a modern way in the wonderful setting of a castle. From dinosaurs remains through to the civil way with 2 or 3 treasure hoardes along the way! Free entry! Interesting additional summer exhibition just coming to an end with works by various children's book illustrators like Axel Scheffler

Good, straightforward, FREE museum. Lots of interactive sections for children. Beautifully set out. Also there is a exhibition that regularly changes. Currently it is children's book illustrators, with a QR code for children to create their own models and share them.

A wonderful museum with engaging and modern displays. Our daughter was enthralled with the current monsters exhibition linked to the works of illustrators of children's books. The staff we encountered were also friendly and helpful.

Smallish museum. Free entry which is good because I would have been disappointed to be charged.

The museum buildings and surrounding a are just as much part of the exhibits as the contents Fascinating presenttations of history, legend and total myth.
Often Special Subject presentations are a great attraction, as well as really good things for youngsters.
I wish they could light up the text cards better though , difficult for some (me) to read.
