Lovely gardens with woodland walks. Brilliant second hand bookshop and nice cafe offering a good range of quality food. Parking is easy except at the height of the school holidays

It's always lovely here. Still a bit bare now, at the end of winter, but plenty of early spring flowers, and the same great views.

Well worth a visit at any time of year to see the changing seasons. Wonderful reclaimed gardens, evolving all the time and the superb formal garden has a wonderful outlook. Great for a relaxed walk although some uphill terrain if wanted. Good restaurant/cafe for Ekenses or lunc- always good, tasty foods tho not el cheapo its affordable. Nice little shop with good choice .

Hestercombe is one of the best presented historical gardens you can visit. The site is fairly compact and there is loads to see. Mature trees, lakes, water features, nature. An amazing formal garden with fantastic planting.

Love strolling around the woodland area and landscaped gardens. Even better dogs are allowed on leads. Lovely view from the top end. Afterwards, unwind and enjoy coffee and cake in the cafe and dogs welcomed in here also. Good plant buying area and small shop.

The gardens are lovely, the house not so much. The landscape garden and it's walk is wonderful as it was designed to be also viewed as separate landscapes from viewing points! The formal garden is also pretty and has a nice orangery building.

The formal part of the garden is well maintained thanks to professionals and volunteers.
One disappointing experience with meals. Porsered for a group. Some items unavailable. And a long wait. Must have been staffing problems. Else all well.

On a lovely sunny but chilly February day we met our friends and had a great day. The house was interesting and the book shop. The scenery and gardens are outstanding and we hope to return in the summer. The cafe has good coffee and cake too.

Love the Stables Restaurant & go there frequently on a Saturday morning after Chi Gong in the summer.
This trip was with my Norwegian friend & we had a lovely lunch that catered for her dietary needs perfectly.
Thank you so much for all your care & information. We’ll definitely be back again!
