Future Faces has announced that leadership development experts Common Purpose will once again be sponsoring the Future Faces Ambassador award at the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards 2025.

Common Purpose is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1989 that develops leaders who can cross boundaries. This enables them to solve complex problems both in organizations and in cities.

It delivers face-to-face and online leadership programmes for multiple generations of leaders: from young people to senior leaders in organizations and society. It has over 137,000 alumni and over 7,000 leaders participate in Common Purpose programmes each year.

Louise Teboul, partnership director, Common Purpose Midlands said: “I’m so pleased that we are supporting the GBYPY Awards again this year, as we’ve now been involved for 17 years, which shows our commitment to leadership in the region.

“As an international not-for-profit, whose focus is on creating better leadership, we’ve always looked for ways to support people, from different places, sectors and parts of the community and these awards have been a great way to recognise some of the great talent in the region.

“The prize we are offering to the winner of the Future Faces Ambassador Award is a coveted place on our Common Purpose high potential leaders programme, worth over £5,000. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to work with some brilliant winners who’ve won places on our programmes and gone on to be great leaders in their sectors, cities and communities, so I am very excited to see who wins this year.

“Congratulations to all the shortlisted candidates and I look forward to seeing everyone at the awards.”

Joel Blake, Private Client Solicitor at Wilkes, was the 2024 recipient of the Future Faces Ambassador award. He said: ‘Winning the Ambassador Award was such a proud and humbling moment for me. It reassured me that the challenges I had faced and the hard work I had put into supporting others were truly worthwhile. It deepened my passion for Future Faces and the vital role it plays in creating opportunities and empowering young professionals across Birmingham.

“Completing the Common Purpose programme was also a turning point, it gave me the tools to lead with confidence, pushed me to step outside my comfort zone, and helped me understand the value of diverse perspectives in driving change. Both experiences gave me clarity about the kind of professional and person I want to be.”

The Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards 2025 will take place at the ICC Birmingham on Friday, 17 October.
