When Jordan Financial Management sponsored the VIP night of Beauty and the Beast at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall on 6 December, they were given the opportunity to speak about their services.

But instead of taking to the stage to talk about investment and pensions, founder Mike Jordan penned a special script for the cast, giving financial advice the fairy tale treatment.

And so Belle, the Beast, Gaston and all the characters performed Mike’s creation – ‘Beauty and the Beastly Fees’.

Mike said: “Everyone knows that in Beauty and the Beast, Belle is at first intimidated by the Beast’s castle, which the local villagers try to avoid.

“Well, funnily enough, the complicated world of financial planning often gets this same reaction!

“But, like in the panto, when you come inside and get to know us – as many thousands of local people have done over 30 years – then you discover the beauty of what we do. The soon realise how we are you’re perfect “forever” partner in the financial world.”

Jordan Financial Management wanted to get involved with supporting this year’s Town Hall panto as a way to give back to the community which has played such an important role in the company’s three-decade success story.

The company even handed 20 tickets to local charity Grow Family Services, which supports families of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Mike said: “Grow Family Services do such a great job supporting the families and their children – we just wanted to let them know what they do is really valuable and appreciated.

“The annual panto is a much-loved community event in Sutton Coldfield, and that same community has trusted us and taken our advice for over 30 years.

“Seeing the smiling faces of the children who were awarded our tickets by Grow Family Services felt especially rewarding.

“We also wanted our hardworking team to have local visibility of the great work we do.”

And by penning the special script, Mike jumped at the chance to show people that financial planning isn’t such a scary subject – oh no it isn’t!

He explained: “As well as sound financial knowledge, good financial planning also relies on some creativity and imagination.

“Writing a short pantomime, rather than using our five minutes opening talk as a formal company introduction, was an opportunity to demonstrate our creativity!

“I was so impressed by the cast’s interpretation of my script – they were absolutely fantastic. They made it so engaging and entertaining.

“Beauty and the Beast was incredible as well – I’d highly recommend it. I really encourage locals to take a look at what this brilliant theatre venue offers – when you see the great shows they have coming over the next 12 months, you’ll become a regular visitor!”

With fairytales like Beauty and the Beast containing timeless messages for the audience, Mike hopes his script left an impression on the audience.

He said: “The message I wanted to convey was this: take a closer look at getting professional independent financial advice.

“In 30 years we’ve never had anyone who has come in for an initial meeting wishing that they hadn't been in to see us.

“We’ve also never had anyone who we have put a financial plan together for that hasn’t worked out.

“Of course, no one can guarantee the future, but 30 years of successful planning speaks for itself.

“If you’d like to discuss taking that first step into financial planning, please do get in touch – we’d be happy to help.”
