Is your business missing out on Government support grants?

Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID is urging Sutton Coldfield based businesses to check if they are eligible for government funded grants before it’s too late.

The Government has put in place a number of schemes to support small businesses, although Birmingham City Council say not all eligible businesses have submitted an application to claim.

The Small Business Grant Fund, accessible through Birmingham City Council is available to businesses in receipt of the Small Business Rates Relief and could see businesses claim up to £10,000 to support them at this time.

Organisations classified as a retail, hospitality or leisure business are eligible for a separate grant, and this is available to businesses with a rateable value of less than £51,000.

Mike Bushell, Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID Manager, said: “We are working closely with local businesses to navigate the challenges they are facing in light of Covid-19. As we adapt to the new normal, we want to do everything we can to support businesses through this turbulent time.

“We would actively encourage all businesses in Sutton Coldfield to check if they are eligible for a grant. Full details of the schemes available and eligibility criteria are available on the birmingham.gov.uk website.

“If you have already submitted an application but not yet received a grant, please let us know so we can work collaboratively with the Council to get things moving. We have recently assisted a town centre-based business to access a £10,000 grant that they may not have otherwise received.”
