Sutton Coldfield Community Games has delivered a specialised accessible event for children and adults with learning, physical and sensory needs, at BMET College.

The Sutton Coldfield Accessible Community Games gives individuals with the opportunity to try a range of sporting activities.

The event, now in its 10th year, saw over 200 people attend throughout the day, where they were able experience 25 different sporting activities including: climbing, boxing, dance, wheelchair basketball and tennis.

Dennis Kennedy is the founder of the Community Games and the driving force behind the return of the event.

He said: “I am genuinely thrilled with how well the event went.  It was wonderful to see so many smiles everywhere, with people visiting and having a great time. The providers themselves did an amazing job at giving everyone a taste of their sport. I couldn’t be happier with how the event went.”

Visitors and providers also took to social media to share their enjoyment of the day.

An attendee from outdoor education specialists Omega Outdoor Adventure said: "We've had such a wonderful time seeing the Community Games team, meeting awesome local clubs and providing new experiences for visiting families, individuals and groups, each person had their very own story today and we're honoured to have been a small part of it.

“Thanks so much to the organisers, clubs and those who attended for the smiles, laughter, enthusiasm, happy tears and heart-warming moments.”

The Community Games timetable is packed with many more Community Games events this summer.
