Birmingham City Council, working in partnership with Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council and Transport for West Midlands, is asking the public for their views on the latest design proposals for Royal Sutton Coldfield Gateway.

The Royal Sutton Coldfield Gateway project aims to enhance access to, from and around the heart of the town, delivering significant improvements to public transport, walking, wheeling and cycling infrastructure.

The proposals focus on improving connectivity, public transport, walking, wheeling and cycling facilities, and supporting the wider regeneration and revitalisation of Sutton Coldfield town centre. This scheme delivers the first phases of the vision set out in the Sutton Coldfield town centre masterplan.

Cllr Rob Grant, cabinet member for transport at Birmingham City Council, said: “It’s really important that we hear from those that live and work in the town. This is a major project that will deliver much-needed improvements to the town centre and the way people move around the area, and I would encourage people to have their say.

"It is so important that you have your say so that we can make sure this project is a success so I would urge everyone to take part."

From today, Thursday 22 October, until Thursday 3 December, residents can look at the latest plans and images of the proposed scheme and share their thoughts via the project website.

Three drop-in events will take place at Sutton Coldfield United Reformed Church, 1 Brassington Avenue, B73 6AA, where members of the project team will be available to answer questions and discuss the proposals in more detail:

Thursday 12 November, 2pm to 7pm

Wednesday 18 November, 8am to 1pm

Saturday 21 November, 11am to 3pm

Anyone with questions about the project can contact the team at: Transport@birmingham.gov.uk

Feedback will play an important role in helping to shape the future of Sutton Coldfield town centre and informing the next phase of the Royal Sutton Coldfield Gateway project.
