Her Edit, created by Performing Perfectly, is a one-day immersive retreat focused on helping women rebuild confidence, reconnect with their professional identity, and return to work with renewed clarity, purpose, and self-belief.

The retreat is aimed primarily at women returning to work within 12 months of maternity leave, as well as those re-entering the workforce after extended caregiving or health-related breaks.

It also presents a valuable opportunity for organisations, HR teams, and diversity and inclusion leaders seeking meaningful ways to support employee wellbeing, retention, and engagement.

Research and workplace trends consistently show that many women experience a significant drop in confidence and engagement following extended time away from work.

This can lead to higher turnover rates within the first year of returning, resulting in a loss of skilled talent and increased recruitment and training costs for organisations.

Despite this, many return-to-work programmes focus primarily on logistics rather than the psychological and emotional transition.

Her Edit has been specifically designed to bridge this gap. The retreat offers a safe, supportive, women-only environment where participants can reflect, reset, and develop practical strategies for a successful return to work.

The one-day experience includes guided coaching sessions, confidence-building exercises, practical re-entry strategies, and workshops focused on values, purpose, and goal setting.

With a small group size of 12 participants, the retreat ensures a personalised and impactful experience.

Lucy Key, director at Performing Perfectly said: “Returning to work after maternity leave or a caregiving break is not just a logistical transition…it’s a deeply personal one.

“Women are coming back with new perspectives, strengths, and responsibilities, yet many struggle with confidence and identity.

“Her Edit was created to support that transition properly - helping women recognise their value, reconnect with their professional identity, and return to work feeling empowered rather than uncertain.”

The retreat also highlights the transferable skills gained through caregiving, reframing them as strengths that enhance professional performance rather than detract from it.

Following an initial pilot, there are plans to expand Her Edit into a series of retreats, alongside corporate partnerships and ongoing coaching support.

With a strong focus on both wellbeing and performance, Her Edit represents a practical, scalable solution to one of today’s most pressing workplace challenges - supporting women not just to return to work, but to thrive.
