Founded by workforce development specialist Dr Nicky Westwood, the consultancy has worked across further and higher education, training providers and employer-led provision, supporting programme development, quality improvement and workforce focused skills delivery across a range of sectors.
The expansion will see NIW Consulting Ltd working more directly with employers to help maximise the value of training and workforce development programmes, ensuring they are aligned to organisational needs and deliver meaningful outcomes.
The move comes at a time when apprenticeship achievement rates are improving nationally, but many organisations continue to face challenges in ensuring consistent outcomes and return on investment.
NIW Consulting Ltd will offer support to both employers working with training providers and organisations delivering apprenticeships internally, focusing on areas such as programme design, employer engagement, and workforce development strategy.
Dr Nicky Westwood said: “Training and workforce development have huge potential to support organisational performance, but many organisations are not seeing the full value from their investment.
“Through NIW Consulting, I support organisations to strengthen programme design, improve quality, and ensure training is aligned to workforce needs.”
As part of the expansion NIW Consulting is also beginning to offer sessions for employers, focusing on workforce development, apprenticeship engagement and programme improvement. The sessions are designed to support organisations to better understand and maximise the impact of their investment in training.
As the skills and funding landscape continues to evolve, including the introduction of the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE), organisations are likely to have greater flexibility in how they approach workforce development, including more modular and flexible training options.
The shift will place even greater importance on how organisations design and align training to their workforce needs.
The consultancy will also be offering a series of seminars, training sessions and consultations to support organisations looking to review and enhance their current approach to training and workforce development.
