The event brought together members of Serco’s internal Inspire Network, a community dedicated to supporting the development, visibility and progression of women working across the organisation’s wide-ranging public service operations.
Serco is one of the UK’s largest providers of public services, employing tens of thousands of people across the UK and internationally.
The organisation delivers essential services across sectors including justice, immigration, defence, transport and citizen services.
Within this complex environment, employee networks such as Inspire play an important role in fostering connection, professional development and leadership conversations among colleagues.
Jules, founder of The Mental Wealth Revolution, has built a reputation for speaking on human capacity, leadership and the biological realities that sit beneath sustained professional performance.
Her keynote explored this year’s International Women’s Day theme, Give to Gain, through the lens of human capacity and the conditions that allow professionals to contribute and lead effectively over time.
Rather than approaching the topic through traditional conversations about resilience or motivation, Jules’ work focuses on how biological load, stress responses and identity patterns influence how people operate in demanding professional environments.
Jules said: “International Women’s Day provides an opportunity to reflect more deeply on how contribution shows up in modern professional life.
“Many professionals, particularly those in leadership and service roles, carry significant levels of responsibility, decision-making and emotional regulation as part of their day-to-day work.
“What often goes unexamined is the biological capacity of the system carrying that load.
“For me it is a genuine privilege to be invited into spaces like this.
“Organisations such as Serco operate in some of the most complex and demanding public service environments in the country.
“The willingness of networks like Inspire to host thoughtful conversations about leadership, contribution and capacity says a great deal about the culture they are building.”
Through The Mental Wealth Revolution, Jules works with organisations across both the public and private sectors – including justice, defence, the NHS, corporate leadership and professional services – helping leaders better understand the relationship between human capacity, decision-making and sustainable performance.
