Mayor of Sutton Coldfield opens Expo 2019

Councillor David Allan officially opened Sutton Coldfield Expo 2019 on Saturday 28th September.  Councillor Allan has represented Trinity Ward on the Town Council of the Royal Town.  Since 2016 he has been Chairman of the Planning and Highways Committee and has lived in the town for 48 years.      This year marked the 10th annual Expo with more businesses and groups taking part than ever before.  The one-day event brought the Parade to life with the Royal Town`s varied and vibrant community showcasing everything from retailers and charities to professional services and community groups.   Organised by Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID there were over 50 stalls from businesses throughout the day including Barclays Bank, Angelina Ballerina,  Stagecoach Performing Arts and the ever-popular community events stage hosted by local poet and playwright Ian Henery (pictured with the Mayor and Barclays Bank) which entertained crowds for the day with live performances from a line-up of local artists, bands and performing groups.   Mike Bushell, Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID Manager said, "We were delighted to welcome the return of Expo this year for what was our 10th and largest year celebrating Sutton Coldfield`s offering.  The day was the perfect opportunity for the local community to discover the rich variety if bus8inesses right on our doorstep, whether it is professional services, retailers, restaurants, charities or clubs as well as making the most of a host of exclusive offers available with some local entertainment".
