Love In Sales ? Really?

Love matters when it comes to selling more. Love and understanding, non judgment, accepting people and things as they are.

Disagreeing with people shuts them down, and brings defense into the situation. Feeling heard and understood opens people up. We all want to feel loved or at least liked, and accepted, we all know when someone isn’t giving us this, even if it’s very subtle.

“I don’t agree with you” shuts people down.

“So what you’re saying is…” keeps people open.

“It’s not what I would do” shuts people down.

“I can see where you’re coming from” keeps people open.

“We don’t do it like that” shuts people down.

“Let’s see how we can find a way” keeps people open.

Any sign of irritation or impatience, when you’re selling or in any communication, and you shut people down. It takes practice to do this consistently, especially if someone is rude or difficult, or stressed, as we can start to be defensive. The trick is to stay in our own energy, our own lane if you will.

Quantum physics has proved that everything is energy, this is why we are so good at sensing whether someone is genuine, and what their intentions are. It’s why we gel with some people and not others. We meet those who we’re attuned to and those relationships flow. And relationships and situations where we are not aligned, tend to either disappear or not work as well.

If you’re going to meet with a potential customer, with the aim of selling to them, you can improve your chances of success by subtly changing that intention. Make your aim helping them, and then you’ll be offering them solutions that genuinely help, and you’re coming at it from their side, not your own. It makes all the difference, and they will feel it.

Similarly, if you have a difficult situation with a customer for example, and you’re finding their behaviour difficult, you can also bring non judgment. You don’t have to tell them you love them, lol, they would think you’d gone nuts. However, you can intend to stay in the energy of giving and supporting, and every time your mind makes a judgment, which it will, you can stop internally and say no, I’m staying in the energy of supporting. I accept them exactly as they are, and my intention is to help them. In saying this we’re not saying to let people walk all over you, you still stand up for yourself if you need to, but you state your needs and ideas in a kind and loving way, without judging them for where they may be at. If you have to walk away do so, but do it knowing you’ve stayed true to your intentions.

When you stay in this good energy, it also helps you remain more centred, calm, reduces stress, which in turn, also makes you more magnetic to people. People will want to be around you, which guess what, also increases your own success.

Think about it when you’re driving. When someone cuts you up, we tend to get angry and defensive. When someone lets us out, smiles or waves, we feel happy and we then do this more for others, we are calmer. It’s the same in sales, give what you want to receive and see your results flourish.

Keep intending to help, have intentions that support you and the prospect, look for win-wins and you’ll all succeed. When you all succeed you win business, retain clients, and develop an amazing reputation. It has a cumulative effect.
