Jasbant Khutan (or Jaz to his friends) is an Engagement Director, IT Solution Architect, published author, and all-round force of nature. Born in the late 1960s at Walsall Manor Hospital and raised in a tiny terrace house in Willenhall, Jaz is a proud first-generation British Indian and the eldest of four children. He’s lived with cerebral palsy since birth — but don’t mistake that for limitation. Jaz has never let his disability define him. Instead, he’s used it as fuel to build a remarkable life filled with resilience, humour, and success.
From a childhood of long hospital stays and learning setbacks — he wasn’t able to write his full name until he was 11 — Jaz pushed through to earn a degree in Economics from York University. He began his career in internal audit before switching lanes to IT, where he’s spent over 30 years implementing global systems, leading teams, and transforming clients across industries. Today, he’s one of the few consultants with deep experience across multiple ERP systems, cloud platforms, and automation technologies.
But there’s more to Jaz than consulting and strategy. He’s a father of two energetic boys, a man who knows the challenges of parenting with a disability, and someone who’s faced life’s toughest moments with laughter and grit. Those who meet him call him “inspirational” — though he’ll tell you he’s just “a people person who loves what he does.” He is also the author of two brilliantly titled books:
When he’s not leading digital transformations, Jaz visits schools as a motivational speaker, encouraging young people — disabled or not — to chase the future they want. No matter what stands in the way.
he interview will be broadcast on Black Country Radio at 4pm on Sunday 26th October and 6pm on Monday 27th October and then repeated at those times the following Sunday and Monday.
