The CEO of a company which operates hotels in Sutton Coldfield and Lichfield has received a major award in recognition of her volunteering efforts.
Angela Burns (pictured) is CEO of the Webb Group, which includes Moor Hall Hotel & Spa in Sutton Coldfield and The George Hotel and The Cathedral Hotel in Lichfield.
She is among 490 people to have received a Platinum Champion Award, in recognition of her volunteering work with The Scout Association.
Angela gives her time to a number of Scouts activities including organising the weekly activities of the local Scout group and fundraising to take the Scouts abroad.
She also holds various roles within the district helping to train, develop and support new leaders.
An extract from her nomination included: “She has phenomenal organisation skills and excellent qualities that bring out the best in children, inspiring them to achieve their potential.
“She consistently strikes the right balance between allowing the children space to express and enjoy themselves whilst ensuring this is done in a constructive and safe way.”
As a champion, Angela will receive a specially designed official Platinum Champion pin and a signed certificate from The Duchess of Cornwall.
