Higher education college to sponsor young professionals awards

Future Faces have announced Birmingham Metropolitan College (BMet) as the latest category sponsor of the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards 2025.

Taking place at the ICC Birmingham on Friday 17 October, the awards will celebrate the talent and successes of young professionals across Greater Birmingham.

BMet will be sponsoring the Greater Birmingham Apprentice of the Year category.

BMet is home to thousands of bright and enthusiastic students and talented and experienced staff. They are passionate about providing the qualifications and training that local employers and communities need. Their goal is to prepare all our students for the world we work and live in, both now and in years to come. 

BMet are a large general FE college with approximately 16,000 learners and three main campuses based in Birmingham: James Watt College at Perry Barr, Matthew Boulton College in central Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield College.

Suzie Branch-Haddow, vice principal - External Development at BMet College, is a previous BYPY winner.

She said: “As a former BYPY winner and last year’s recipient of the President’s Award, I’ve experienced first-hand the incredible impact that GBYPY can have on the growth and development of young professionals.

“We are once again proud to sponsor the GBYPY Awards, as we strongly believe in the importance of recognising and celebrating the outstanding talent across our region.

“These individuals are not only driving innovation and excellence in their fields but also making a meaningful contribution to our regional community and economy.”

This year marks 25 years of BYPY, the Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards, dating back to when the awards were first launched under the BPS Network, which later merged with Future Faces to create the Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards.

The event also fosters networking opportunities, encourages collaboration and the exchange of ideas amongst the brightest minds in the region.

The awards cover a wide range of sectors, with the following categories:
