Highclare students achieve ‘outstanding’ A-level results

The latest cohort of sixth formers returned to Highclare School to receive their A Level results.

Among the Highclare students celebrating yesterday were Talal Baldwin, who achieved 4 A*s, Waaris Bilal, who achieved 1 A* and 3 As, Andrew Evans, who achieved 4 As, Lizzie Pulley, who achieved 2 As and 2 Bs and Simram Bamra, who achieved A*, Distinction and two Bs.

This year’s students have been accepted to study a diverse range of subjects such as accountancy, finance and business , engineering, psychology, geology and real estate, law and English at institutions such as Bristol, Leeds, Nottingham, Cardiff, Queen Mary London and Swansea. 

Headmaster Dr Richard Luker said: “I am extremely proud of the exceptional achievements attained by our U6 cohort during another difficult and unique year of study.

“This success is a culmination of a lot of hard work, resilience and commitment from all concerned throughout their educational journey.

“Many thanks to our incredible team at Highclare who went above and beyond in support of our students.

“The way our community continued to work and learn despite the ongoing impact of the pandemic was an inspiration, with students displaying exceptional strength of character, adaptability and dedication as they worked towards their qualifications.

“We wish them all the very best and look forward to receiving news of their future successes.”

Students attained an impressive set of examination results, with 30 per cent of pupils achieving A* to A grades (including EPQ) and 57 per cent passing at A*, A or B.
