Experience the great outdoors with no mod cons when you camp out on Dartmoor with your map and compass, cook your super ration pack meal over a camp fire and then get your troop back to base. Whatever you choose, there is a world of exciting challenges at Sutton Coldfield Royal Marines Cadets detachment.

The unit’s Commanding Officer, Sub Lieutenant (SCC) Joshua Walsh RNR, said: “We
welcome all young people living in Sutton Coldfield to pop in to the unit when we’re open and get stuck in some exciting activities like navigation, drill and orienteering.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to get to know other young people in the area and you’ll make some great friends, learn new skills that will give you a great head start in life and will really boost your confidence.”

Sutton Coldfield Royal Marines Cadets is part of the national charity Sea Cadets, which
gives young people a new perspective. We broaden horizons and create possibilities.
Working across the UK with 14,000 young people between 10 and 18, we help them see the world with confidence, gained through the challenge of nautical adventure and a Royal Navy ethos. Our aim is to help more young people to see the future that they want – and make that future happen. Sutton Coldfield Royal Marines Cadets opened in April 2019 at Sutton Coldfield Sea Cadets.

It has supported thousands of young people in Sutton Coldfield to learn nautical skills, with many local cadets currently attending, supported by professional and enthusiastic
