Sutton Coldfield Choral Society celebrates its 50 th anniversary season with a
performance of Mozart’s hauntingly beautiful Requiem. Puccini’s operatic masterpiece,
Messa di Gloria, rounds off the deeply dramatic programme that Music Director Richard
Mason and the society have planned for the beginning of its jubilee year.
The Society will be singing with Emmanuel choirs, a full professional orchestra and a
first class line-up of soloists for this special occasion.

David Ratcliff, the choir’s Chairman, explains “the choir performs twice a year – in the
Spring and in November” says David: “We’ve been rehearsing the music since
January and the concert is fast approaching. This final week we’re adding the
finishing touches to the performance to make this occasion unforgettable for our
singers and our audience.”

“Some of our members have been with us for over 20 years while Richard Mason,
our Music Director, has led the choir for 25 years. Many of our musicians are
studying music or have recently graduated. We’d love more young adults to come
and sing with us – they will be made very welcome.”

Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust supports a range of Sutton projects and activities –
and the Choral Society is amongst them.

David added: “We are all so looking forward to entertaining music lovers of Sutton
and, of course, everyone is welcome. We only perform twice a year -so book your
tickets now. To guarantee a good seat, tickets can be reserved in advance by calling
the Box Office.
