As Purveyors of the time-honoured British tradition of Afternoon Tea, June will be a busy month for us at Pretty Odd Props- as it’s the month of Her Madge’s Second 90th Birthday. If you’re looking for a fun and easy way to join in the festivities, here are our 5 tips:

1. Celebrate with all things Union Jack and get the decorations out!

There's nothing like a bit of bunting to instantly give you the street party vibe... It can be sourced quite cheaply over the Internet (or even better - support your local businesses and have a shop around your local high street!) We like the vintage kind ourselves - we also have ours up all year in the studio - it makes us happy.

2. Host a Tea Party!

If a street party is a little too out there for you, why not invite your friends round and partake in one of England's best loved traditions (yes - we are slightly biased!)

Ask your friends to pitch in a few quid, or alternatively ask each guest to bring something with them to keep your costs down.

If you fancy treating your loved ones, Pretty Odd Props offer bespoke tea party packages to suit every size and budget. We also provide pop-up tea rooms for special occasions just like this one.

3. Check out events in your local area!

(We are Royal Sutton Coldfield after all!) The Kings Arms are holding an event in celebration of the Diamond Queen on the 11th June, and Malcolm Gray & Associates will be holding a pop-up tearoom at their store on Thursday 16th June from 1pm - 5pm (with us!) along with other events in celebration. Check out www.thebestof.co.uk to find events in your local area.

4. Get making! Whether it's crafting or baking!

(We need to fill the void now GBBO is over!) Whether it's making hats, crowns or masks, why not get the kids involved too? You could also encourage them with the food paint and get them inspired to decorate cakes or biscuits in a right royal fashion.

5. Get the family round the box!

There will be a lot of televised events throughout June. Have a royal night in with family and friends! It'll be better than Eurovision, because it will actually give us something to celebrate! Throughout Friday 10th - Sunday 12th June there'll be a variety of events - Our favourite festivity however will most likely be on the Sunday - it will see the largest ever street party gathered for 'The Patron's Lunch' in St. James's Park. Over 10,000 people will gather on The Mall to celebrate the Queen's patronage of over 600 charities and organisations.

It'll be like one giant Tea Party - think of all the tea and cake! It's going to be a great weekend!
