Sutton Coldfield’s first Food Festival of the year has been hailed a huge success, as the community braved the rain for a weekend of feasting in the Royal Town.
Following the overwhelming success of the inaugural event last summer, the two-day festival bought Sutton Coldfield to life with flavour with over 70 pop-up restaurants, street food vendors, local producers and breweries gracing the Parade at the event.
Hungry visitors refused to let the wet weather dampen their spirits, dining on a host of culinary delights from some of Sutton Coldfield’s finest venues as well as foodie favourites from across the region.
There was also a packed calendar of activities, cookery demonstrations and workshops across the weekend, including appearances from the Great British Break Off’s Julie Chernogorova and Karen Wright.
Delivered and funded by Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID in partnership with Cocker Hoop Creative, organisers have also confirmed a second Sutton Coldfield Food Festival is set to take place later this year on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th October.
Organisers hope the festivals will bring an even greater variety of experiential community events to the town, joining the likes of Month of Music, Sutton Has Musical Talent, Expo, and a host of regular markets.
Mike Bushell, Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID Manager, said: “We were delighted to see so many members of the community brave the rain and join us for the first Sutton Coldfield Food Festival of the year. Once again, it proved there is a massive appetite for these type of events in the area, and we are very much looking forward to delivering a second Food Festival later this year.
“Sutton Coldfield is home to a wide range of independent eateries, pubs and well-loved restaurants, and the Food Festival provides the perfect opportunity for residents and visitors alike to discover everything that the town centre has to offer,” he added.
The next Sutton Coldfield Food Festival will take place on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October 2019.
