As in-person award ceremonies come back with a bang, Sutton Coldfield-based copywriter Anita Ellis, who set up her business in lockdown, has been shortlisted for the Global Women in Marketing Awards.

Launched in 2010, the awards were established to recognise the economic, social influence and impact of women.

The awards achieved global status in 2017.

This year’s theme is Hope, Humanity and Healing and Anita, founder of Lexicomm, is shortlisted for the WiM Copywriting Award, supported by Vikki Ross for #CopywritersUnite

The category recognises the craft of copywriting and the ability to be clear, creative, concise and compelling and the award celebrates copywriters who have used the power of words to empower women, encourage equality or fight gender discrimination.

With 15 different marketing awards up for grabs, Anita will join more than50 women from around the world at an exclusive London awards ceremony on 2 March.

Anita (pictured) said: “I’m not often lost for words but being shortlisted alongside so many incredible women all over the world is really quite overwhelming.

“I’m so proud to be a women in marketing and to get this kind of recognition from one of the copywriting industry Greats, Vikki Ross, is more than I could have dreamed when I changed careers in lockdown.”
