It will take place on Thursday, 5 February at the Blythe Valley Innovation Centre, Solihull from 2 to 3.30 pm.
Aligned with this year’s theme of ‘Growth Without Limits’, the workshop will be led by chartered occupational psychologist Jane Arthur-McGuire and the team at JAM People Consulting.
The session is designed to help organisations connect their people strategy more clearly to their commercial goals.
Attendees can explore what a simple, effective talent strategy looks like in practice, how to identify the critical roles and skills that enable growth, and practical ways to improve engagement, development and retention without big‑company budgets.
Participants will also complete a short Talent Health Check, leaving with clear, actionable next steps they can take back into their organisation.
The session is free to attend and forms part of a wider programme of events designed to strengthen collaboration and capability across the West Midlands business community.
The West Midlands Business Festival, taking place from 2–13 February 2026, is a region-wide celebration of collaboration, innovation and ambition, offering more than 110 free events for SMEs and growing organisations.
Speaking about the workshop, Jane Arthur-McGuire, said: “We’re passionate about working in partnership to support growth across the West Midlands.
“The Business Festival creates a brilliant platform for businesses to learn from one another, share challenges openly and build practical capability.
“Through this workshop, we’re looking forward to collaborating with leaders, HR teams and fellow partners to help organisations put people strategy at the heart of sustainable growth.”
