I live close to The Fox in bulmer tye and decided to try it out! My girlfriend and I immediately chose the scotch egg as my first dish. We made a great choice. The scotch egg was scrumptious with a gooey yolk and a crispy outside, accompanied by a tangy apple sauce. From then myself and my girlfriend chose the pork belly roast. After a short wait we were presented with a comfortable, perfectly plated roast dinner. The pork was cooked to perfection with the crackling delicately placed on top, all on top of a drizzle of apple sauce. The Yorkshire pudding made the dish as it was huge, crispy and tasteful! The vegetables that came with it oozed with flavour with the gravy that just completed it! After quickly eating everything on my plate we were offered dessert… we just couldn’t resist! I dove head first into the creme brûlée whisky my girlfriend destroyed a chocolate nemesis! Overall such a pleasurable experience with service that was above and beyond!

Went here for an evening meal, both our starters and main meals were very nice indeed. The staff were friendly and professional. The decor is very modern, it definitely does not have a traditional country pub feel however the atmosphere was still very pleasant. The only major negative is no lights in the car park so it is pitch black outside. We had to use the light of our phones to safely get back to the car. However, all in all we would happily return.

I’m moving to the area soon snd I popped in for a quick drink and a bite to eat. Lovely pub, very clean and tastefully decorated. Excellent food and most importantly really nice friendly staff. Will definitely be my local when I move!

Delicious food. Vegan menu choices celeriac steak or gnocchi were really lovely. Roast beef was served with huge Yorkshire pudding and the smoked haddock hit the spot too. Home made bread and butter pudding also Delicious. Very friendly staff and prompt service

Enjoyed Sunday lunch here as relatively close to home. Food was delicious. There is only a small menu here which is changed fortnightly and clearly works in our favour as the food is well prepared and well planned. Sunday roast, celeriac roast and smoked haddock was enjoyed by our party. Marmalade bread and butter pudding, key lime pie and lemon creme brulee to follow. Very good portion size. Friendly staff made the meal delightful. Definitely recommend trying out this treasure.

In the area visiting Long Melford and chose this pub for our evening meal. We made an excellent choice. The food was brilliant. My wife and I chose crab and prawn polenta cake which was served with a lovely chilli relish. To follow I chose whole oven baked mackerel which I hadn’t had for years but was perfectly prepared and served with salsa verde. My wife chose the spatchcock chicken which was also cooked to perfection and just the right quantity. We couldn’t resist deserts which again were delicious. I sunk myself with chocolate mouse while my wife sensibly chose lemon creme brûlée.

Fantastic! We had a Sunday lunch here, first time we have tried The Fox and the food was perfect, as was the service and the whole ambience of the place. Very good value for money, we will definitely return.

We used to visit the Fox under the previous owner, and loved the place. When we heard the Fox was being taken on by a small local chain we weren't sure what we'd find.
The food is good - still a small but varied menu, changing once a fortnight. It was presented beautifully and tasted terrific. The waitress was pleasant, friendly and efficient; never chasing us, never leaving us sitting with empty plates for long.If you love beer - try the Brewshed. The scent is like sitting in a good brewery, and the taste is just as good. We will be returning, and not leaving it so long this time.

The food choices are far superior to the usual local pub fare. Local ingredients, a menu that changes regularly and no lazy tourist food. Beer ( brewed at another of their locations ) well served. A bargain at £21 quid for 2 courses. I had a whole pan- fried Mackerel .. too rarely seen and just delicious.

They do an excellent an fixed price menu which changes every fortnight. Two or three starters plus 4 or so mains and a couple of daily specials too. There's also a fish dish and vegetarian dish . The food is tasty, imaginative and very well presented. Good beers too. Good value. Outdoor seating as well as indoor and lots of parking. Recommended
