Turned up here at lunchtime, on spec with dogs, and received a great welcome. Sensibly there's one area reserved for dog diners so preventing the whole pub being overrun with muts! Seemed to work well and the dog owners were joined by some dog admirers!
Lovely pint of well poured IPA was followed by a Keens cheddar sandwich and slow roasted shin beef bap for me with a decent bowl of cauliflower soup and some excellent chips. Food quality was very good and some tempting and slightly different things on the menu. If I was to be picky I'd query whether the cheese should be grated (to go further maybe, but always seems somewhat childish but that's being ultra fussy).
Great garden which is well maintained with good children's facilities.
Finished our lunch with a lovely walk around this delightful village.
Would highly recommend and is certainly worth the detour from some of the larger neighbouring
villages. We will be back for lunch very soon.

Our first time having Sunday lunch at this lovely old pub. We loved: the smart staff wearing uniform, the large wine glasses, the large linen napkins, the online booking system in addition to the delicious food. Really liked the roast pork with belly pork. The roast carrots, mashed swede and buttered cabbage were all really tasty.
We shall be back and also try the other Brewshed pubs.

Coming into the village and seeing the pub was lovely, a truly picturesque.
Once inside we were greeted with friendly smiling staff and beautiful decor inside. We setup a tab and were taken to our table. Complimentary water, still or sparkling was provided and the furnishings were very tasteful.
The food was fantastic, very flavoursome and well presented. Nothing was too much trouble was the impression you got.
I will be taking my whole family back, really nice.

We have been going here for over a year now, there are closer pubs (in the same group even) to us, but this is the best all round one.
The food is really good, the beer excellent and the wine list offers a good selection too. The garden is good for children (although it would be great if the play area was fenced off).
It gets very busy at weekend so book at least a week ahead to get a decent time and be prepared to wait for your food, it can take a little while, but the Sunday roasts in particular are well worth the wait.
The staff can be a little cold, probably because they are so busy though.

Dined here last Saturday evening with my girlfriend. The food was very nice indeed but what I liked most was the chilled atmosphere, the good choice of local ale and the impeccable service. We really enjoyed being able to sit by the stunning open fire and have a nice leisurely meal. We even popped back for a quick pint midday Sunday and it was buzzing and friendly. A really nice establishment that We'll be visiting again shortly.

We visited the Crown on Wednesday evening this week for their first steak night, it was fantastic. Such good value at £40 for two steaks and a bottle of wine. We took the children and my parents. we obviously didn't need three bottles of wine on a week night but they were more than happy to exchange the children's wine for soft drinks to the value of the wine.
Three of the party chose swordfish, two venison and one rib eye steak, every one said how good the food was. We also picked up one of the vouchers in December entitling us to a free desert making the whole meal fantastic value.
I will definitely be returning for another visit very soon, it may even turn in to a regular event for my family.

We booked a table for four over the web earlier in the day and the staff had our reservation available at the appointed time.
The staff were welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Recommendations were made on food an wine, and samples of a couple of wines were produced. The food was as described on the menu, well cooked and presented, and tasted great.
A great place for an evening meal - thanks!

We visited The Crown last night and were incredibly happy with our meal and the service we received. the pub/restaurant seemed busy and popular, and when we started our meal we completely understood why! The waitresses were excellent and very helpful, the food was delicious, the surroundings and decor are very stylish, the menu had lots of lovely choices, there was a roaring firein our dining area (nice touch!). I can highly recommend the Christmas Scotch Egg for starters, although I can't imagine it'll be on the menu for much longer! Hopefully they'll bring it back next year though! Definitely worth a trip out to this village!

Went here on Friday for my works Christmas party.
Myself like many others had never heard of The Crown nor the village itself before. The pub had really nice decor and you can tell it was looked after.
The Christmas menu was an interesting selection, but the food itself was really good. The portioning was the right amount, the waiting staff were fun to joke and banter with.Would come again

I wish myself and 6 friends had arrived earlier and stayed longer, but we had a driver without sat nav. But although really late, we enjoyed the choice of the full menu and the real ales, all excellent, but we were on a schedule so could not fully enjoy our visit. I will be back ASAP!

We went on a thursday evening and had an excellent meal with a good price, nice and friendly service. Lovely warm fresh bread for starter. The building is lovely to look at and they have a good outdoor play area for my kid.

We took a party of 7 for lunch including children and all ages of adults. Service was good, as was the food. It's not cheap for a pub Sunday lunch, but with rabbit and belly of pork also on the menu - both of which were excellent - it was worth playing a bit extra. It is also a lovely building in a beautiful village. Worth the trip.

I'm a new "regular" and I love the fact that on most occasions the bar is full of locals dropping in for their regular tipple and a chat, while the restaurant is often full of diners from near and far. And with good reason, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the food delicious. Smoked Haddock Scotch Eggs have gone onto my list of favourite dishes. Mussels are a winner too. I never struggle finding something on the menu. All the staff are friendly and attentive but never intrusive and I consider myself lucky to find such a place on my doorstep.
