Nice service and pub was immaculate inside and out. Great garden with wooden play structure for families with kids. My only observation would be to make the pudding menu more traditional and less ott. Give me sensible pie and custard anyday! Great cheese ploughmans with awesome pickles - just a tad light on the cheese tho.The place is immaculate. Spotlessly clean and tidy.

My Husband organised a surprise lunch for family and friends to celebrate my birthday. The staff were extremely helpful from the start and on the day were absolutely fantastic...cheerful, friendly and competent. The food was delicious and everyone, especially the children, enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. If you want a first class meal, friendly staff and beautiful surroundings then The Crown is well worth a visit.

Large family gathering for a birthday celebration. Food was nice and service good. A comfortable and characterful place with nice choice of beers.

After being recommended, I visited the Crown knowing it was a half decent pub a few years ago that served nice food. Firstly I was amazed at how beautiful the setting was and how fantastic the building looked. I had business lunch planned with guests who had flown in from Europe and the USA. They were blown away with everything about the place. It's decor, the gardens, the setting. It was a lovely sunny day (for a change) and the place looked absolutely stunning. My guests said that I clearly knew where to visitors to the UK to give a good impression - I obviously played along with this!
When we walked inside we were greeted by a couple of extremely friendly staff who showed us to our table. The room was delightfully decorated, light and open.
One of our guests had a very specific requirement and the staff took this all onboard and provided her with the perfect meal. All of the food was stunning and I'm quite disappointed that I haven't visited this place in the last 10 years until now!
I will be returning as regularly as I can (infact I've already booked to take my family at the weekend) and I will also be taking many more clients to the Crown.
I really look forward to the next time I visit; it is a gorgeous place with a really friendly but professional approach to dining. Top marks.

Really good pub food. Service was really good. Kids welcome with good menus and games for kids. My wife is coeliac and there was a really good gluten free range of foods.

Excellent food again (we went to the One Bull last week) and service was again excellent without being intrusive.
The only warning is to leave plenty of time to find it if you don't know the area.

Visited here on Saturday lunchtime, perfect place to stop on bike ride.
Located in quiet and picturesque suffolk village. The crown is a lovely big traditional pub with a large beer garden and courtyard area, with childrens play area. Like the other three sister pubs (cadogan, beer house and one bull) the own brewed beer is great. Me and my friend both went for sanwhich and chips i had egg mayo and my friend the BLT, both very good.
Pub is well worth a visit, and i will return soon.

We were lucky enough to revisit this wonderful pub and restaurant recently. My husband and I had rented a cottage for a romantic weekend in the village years ago and had memories of a gorgeous meal at The Crown and I'm happy to say that nothing has changed. Beautifully decorated, crisp white linen napkins and stunning glassware always makes me happy but coupled with a superb menu and fabulous food and the lovely village setting, this place is a slice of Heaven. But what makes it even more memorable are the charming professional staff. Knowledgeable about the food that they are serving and enthusiastic too. Can't wait to go back. I just wish it wasn't two hours away!

I went here for drinks with an old friend of mine, and we were joined by another later on.
I used to reside nearby to this very old Inn, and always drank here for many years. It has changed somewhat over the years, and is now more Restaurant than old Inn.The two young members of staff on the bar, one a young lady who appeared to be in charge, and the other a young man really were very efficient and very helpful. I understand that both of them are about to depart their jobs here, which in my opinion will be a great shame, and the management here will find it hard to replace people like this.

The group of 20 walkers had earlier telephoned their requirements for lunch and given a time when we would arrive. The meals were served exactly on time in a pleasant manner and the quality and value of the meals were second to none. Their soup and sandwich deal was £7 and exceeded our expectations. The ingredients were freshly cooked and well presented. The restaurant gave the impression of being well organized and easily able to cope with the numbers. We will come again.

Our mid-week visit to The Crown was excellent. We all chose different items from a very interesting menu. Each dish turned out to be very tasty. The online booking service worked smoothly, and the staff themselves were all very pleasant.

Have not been here since the current owners took over. Very pleased that the character of the building has not been lost in the changes. It is one of a chain of 4 pubs and a micro brewery, so a pint of their best bitter was called for and it did not disappoint. Two menus were offered: soup and sandwiches or "Proper Food". We chose from the later and we enjoyed what we had.
A bit more expensive that the average pub fare, but return visit is definitely called for.

We recently moved to the area and are really very impressed with The Crown. It is in a beautiful setting just set back from the village green. It is certainly a beautiful village, and agree that it is a hidden gem as mentioned by others. We have been here on quiet nights and very, very busy nights and the standard of service and food is always excellent. Everything seems home-made and of good quality. Worth travelling a little out of your way for. Or if you are lucky like us, just a short trip away. Their 'Pie and a Pint' nights are especially enjoyable and excellent value.

A very well presented pub in this beautiful village. A roaring fire, a welcoming, clean and well designed interior. The young team working were very friendly and efficient, a credit to the business. A great choice of local real ale, two of which are brewed themselves at a local pub which they also own in Bury St Edmunds. The menu like everything else was well thought out, presented nicely with a great choice of starters, main courses, side dishes and sandwiches. The food was clearly freshly prepared and of good home made quality. Shall recommend and be back!

Wednesday pie and pint night for £10. You can have a wine or soft drink as well! Rabbit pheasant and blythburgh pork suet pudding, greens , mash and jus - delicious. My wife had steal and mushroom pie (proper shortcrust pie - base, sides and top) with greens, mash and jus. Friendly staff, good food , real fire and a nice pub. Will come again.

A great Sunday lunch for our party of seven. Perfectly cooked medium-rare roast beef, proper roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and plenty of fresh vegetables. Service was friendly and just the right level of attentiveness. Highly recommended..!

Friendly gastropub, with good food, excellent wine list available by the glass as well as bottle and great for meeting and chatting with friends over dinner. Beer selection disappointing especially bearing in mind they have a micro-brewery in BSE
