Popped over the The Crown to apologise in person for having to cancel a family meal due to a number of our party feeling uneasy about the current coronavirus issue and decided to stay and have a bite to eat. Their Wednesday Pie & a Pint deal was on so went for a steak & onion and a chicken & mushroom. Both were packed with filling and full of flavour. They came with mash, veg and gravy and at £12 were excellent value.

I was visiting the area for work and was recommended to this pub by the B & B owners for an evening meal. A nice friendly pub, with a pleasant ambiance, friendly service, decent choice of food which was very tasty and satisfying. The pub was so good I went back on my second night. I did not have my dogs with me but it was obviously a very dog welcoming pub with a number of locals and exceptionally well behaved pets. I was a little bit disappointed that The Crown is some 80 miles from where I live as would otherwise see it as my perfect local.

Fabulous food. I had the chicken and mushroom pie. You could taste the mushrooms were fresh. The tiramisu was to die for! So full, but excellent value for money

Popped in today , pub was very busy which is always nice to see and the 🔥 fires where lit , nice and cosy. The ladies had a glass of wine each and we sat down , nice sandwich’s and soup all round lovely staff served us with a smile . Food was excellent as always will be back . The weather out side was beautiful and the gardens looked wet nice so in the summer a table will be had to enjoy the Suffolk countryside. Thank you 😊

Recommended by friend we went today and had a great lunch at this lovely pub in a beautiful setting. Service was friendly and all staff were helpful. I had the roast pork, which was delicious and plenty of side veg, the rest had veggie options- the mushroom pie went down really well as did the curry and 'veggie roast. Then one of the best sticky toffee puddings I've had. Look forward to returning when the weather's a bit better to have a wander round the village

I can not recommend this Sunday lunch enough. We enjoyed a selection of light bites from the ‘while you wait’ menu which was a mistake as it meant we could not manage dessert or quite finish our mains
We had white bait which was crisp and served with a small portion of mayonnaise; some bread which comes in a brown paper bag to keep it hot. Two small loaves of freshly baked, hot crispy bread served with a side of butter. We also had the pork crackling and apple sauce. These were all delicious and come recommended
The mains of pork belly was a huge delight. Served with Yorkshire pudding, the crispiest roast potatoes; cauliflower cheese; carrots and cabbage. All deliciously cooked, served hot and large portions. One of our party had the roast beef which was served with the same accompaniments and was served pink
None of us could manage a dessert
Our compliments to the chef and the lovely waiter and waitresses who looked after us today

Been going to this pub for many years on and off and I've never complained about the food.
But sadly today was totally different. Not good at all was gutted. Most things came out cold and we were the only ones in there eating as it was early.

Lovely pub , with nice food fairly limited menu though , the seating in the area near the bar has fixed tables and seats and we found it extremely uncomfortable which spoilt the visit hence the three stars.

Quite shocked by this experience. Service was slow. i had to go to the bar to get a drink and it was obvious by my walking stick that this took some effort. I ordered the salmon dish, it was so dry, the salad was just full of broccoli and carrots. I had to as for a portion of chips to compensate. So my husband ended

up eating his meal on his own, Then had to dispute the bill. £11 was taken off then had to explain that I had hardly eaten the salmon as it was almost inedible. No apology for a truly terrible time.

We normally use sister pub, The Cadogan, for a family Christmas meal but as this was the first one without my father, we decided to change to The Crown. We booked early so had a the time and date we wanted and as we were a largish group, we pre-booked. Spot on time, we were advised our starters were ready so we made our way to the table. We had a variety of starters, Mackerel pate, crab croquettes, whitebait but all who had the Christmas scotch egg were very impressed with it. For main courses, we had a mixture of beef, pork and turkey and all were cooked perfectly. Plenty of vegetables with more offered if required along with extra gravy. There was plenty on every plate which left little room for deserts although a few did indulge. The staff were attentive and checked on us at regular intervals offering more drinks and checking everything was ok.

Thank you Lucy and the team for making a slightly sad occasion a wonderful day.
