Another positive experience with tacwood autos. took my sprinter utility vehicle in for MOT, was given a polite call by Dominic who informed everything was fine with my van, but one area which caused it to fail was the EML light being on. Damian advised on diagnostics being carried out and checked with me before proceeding. Upon my agreement they carried out the advised procedure and found i needed a forced DPF regeneration, again keeping me informed and checking with me before carrying out any work. i agreed, the regeneration was carried out and was 100% cleared using there process, fault code cleared and MOT passed. Upon my arrival robbie explained all details of the faults and processes thoroughly and provided me with full documentation and proof of works. everything was made clear and easy to understand. Price was good, fair and reasonable, especially considering the attention to detail.

Just had my Van back from Tackwoods. My van went in for break repairs on the front. new discs and pads. They had issues (Ford Custom) with the hubs and nuts been stuck. Easy solution was to say you need more new parts. Instead they eventually after some time managed to get both Hubs and discs off. I am grateful for what they did and not just to go down the easy and more costly route. Ethical company comes to mind who are honest. I would 100% recommend this company as i always do.

Booked my car in for a service with Tackwoods, and they could have ripped me off by telling me it needed a full service but as I do very little mileage in my car I was advised I only needed a small service this time. As soon as it was booked I received a text telling me exactly how much it would cost. During the service they found some work that needed doing, so they phoned me to tell me and again totally up front with the costs so no nasty surprise bill at the end! Darren even remembered that I had said I was in meetings from 10-1530 so wouldn’t be able to pick the car up until later in the day, and phoned before 10 to check it was ok to do the repairs! As usual, excellent service from the team! Thanks everyone

Booked my 1990 Elan for mot , This highlighted some issues which resulted in a failure, due to brakes& emissions not meeting the required standard, After the necessary repairs completed , & retest the car passed.
The brakes feel much more effective & the engine runs much more efficiently.

I can't recommend Tackwood MOT and Service Centre enough. Getting an estimate was quick and easy and the booking process was completely hassle-free. Really great garage, can’t recommend it enough. Very friendly staff on the desk, and I really like that they provide a paper copy of a quote of any advisory work discovered on the MOT. I will be going back to get my MOTs here from now on.

Booked my car in for rear brake pad replacement as my MOT flagged they needed doing. At drop off they noticed my tyre pressure light flashing and I thought this was due to a faulty sensor- they offered to check this out for me. They confirmed it was a programming issue perhaps when I last had tyres changed, and they cleared the issue and confirmed no sensor required. I sat and waited and was in and out in less than 90 minutes. Very pleased with the service and looking to get my aircon sorted next month.

Brilliant service from start to finish. From great communication throughout to the thoughtful little touches dotted around. Not only was I told exactly when they intended to do different parts of the work, there were umbrellas next to the door in case it was chucking it down. The tiny bag of chocolate eggs on the passenger seat when I picked it up were a sweet little surprise too.

I’m new to the area and, as a young woman going alone to get my MOT done, I’ll admit I was a little nervous about choosing the right garage. I’m so glad I went with Tackwood MOT & Service Centre!
From the moment I arrived, Darren on reception was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which instantly put me at ease. The whole experience felt honest and professional, and most importantly, I didn’t feel taken advantage of at all — something I know can sadly happen to women at garages.
I dropped my car off at 7:45am and by 8:45am my MOT was already done and passed. Such a quick and efficient service!
