Love this place! My husband and myself visit every week sometimes for lunch, sometimes for coffee and cake. we have taken friends and family and are never disappointed. Although it is VERY busy, service is absolutely great and the staff are lovely and friendly. There is a breakfast menu that finishes at 11.30. After that its the usual sandwiches, toasties, paninis, jacket potatoes and soup and its all excellent. I can recommend the prawn sandwich!

So glad to see this place up and running again! I decided to bring my partner along to see a place that means a lot to me and he loved it! The actors are amazing and were happy to stop and chat, the ladies in the spinning room and the cottage were so informative and lovely, the shire horses were grand as always and the calves were adorable! Can't wait to visit again sometime! <3

11/05/2025. Absolutely brilliant day out with the grandchildren. Fascinating step back in time. Special thanks the farmers wife in the farmhouse, who explained every detail of the farmhouse daily life, to our two grandchildren, who were entranced.!
It was very quiet, we were expecting crowds, but not many people so very tranquil. Lovely cafe with home made cakes, meals.
It’s only just reopened at the farm, after being closed for four years, so maybe word hasn’t got round yet!
We stayed four hours, plenty of parking, and not too much walking for creaky old knees.!
Your missing a treat with your kids if your looking for an old fashioned countryside day out, without a screen in their hands.
All run by volunteers, so come on everyone, give them some support and visit! It’s brilliant!

Very good day out, and it was great to see how farming life was. I must admit to see the magnificent shires working in the fields and being harnessed was a real treat. Tbh would have given a 4 star but worth the 5 stars just for shires, very authentic.

We visited the farm in early May with our two grandchildren and son and daughter in law and had an absolutely perfect day. All 3 generations were enthralled by the farm and activities available. As it was our first visit we decided to go with a guide and my goodness me what a delight Jo was. She managed to bring to life the workings of the farm engaging our grandchildren for the whole tour which is no mean feat! Her enthusiasm and sense of humour were just perfect. We all had lunch in the Victorian school room and no one was disappointed with their choices and all proved to be excellent value and extremely tasty. A fantastic day out and one not to be missed.

Amazing Acton!
Revisited after 30 years, this time with grandchildren, not children. They loved it, had a picnic, listened to shire horse info & asked questions, planted 2 types of beans in an eco friendly compostable container (paper!) ate a fresh radish, played hopscotch, read about farming of yesteryear & generally we all had a fabulous 3 hours.
