Although the team were very helpful, I can’t help feeling dissatisfied.
I believe the purpose of having a camper van is to travel with your own accommodation etc and therefore 30 days european insurance cover wouldn’t be enough for the period of time wanting to travel abroad. Here in the UK i would have preferred to be a member of a specific breakdown organisation and not whoever is available at the time as said.
I also asked for key cover to be put on the policy as I have it on my other vehicles but that wasn’t feasible?

Very preferable to online companies. You talk to agents who listen to you needs and put best relevant policies forward. Very competitive prices. Hope I never have to claim but unlike online your agent will help you through the whole process.

It was a pleasure to deal with Howdens yesterday for our camper van insurance. The lady that answered the phone several times for me was very nice, as was Kelsey Hicks, who dealt with the quotation for me. I found her to be very helpful, efficient and attentive. She showed a lot of patience in answering all my questions and ensuring that I had the correct policy for my needs. She also enquired about our house insurance and other vehicles due to be renewed. She gave added comfort and assurance by asking me to not hesitate to contact her, should I have any further questions or required assistance. Just got car insurance form Howden at tooting. They beat my renewal quote by £100 and the cheapest comparison quite by £50 and the cover was better as well. I dealt with Roberta Kelly who was very helpful and efficient.

My experience has not been so great. I was a customer of Bishops Calway which was sold to Howden/A-Plan a few years ago. Now BC were good. A-Plan and more lately Howden have been a mixed experience. On a mildly modified old car they’ve been pretty good although it took some time to explain what the modifications were and some staff are better than others. On a group motorcycle policy, however, they have been worse than useless. Not listening, not following explicit instructions and ending me with the wrong policy which has cost me several hundred pounds when time came to change policies. Some staff get it, some don’t, but you don’t get to speak the former members of staff as the phone is picked up by Uncle Tom Cobbly and while eager, they can be worse than useless. Would I go back? A very guarded yes, but I would walk away if they can’t do what I want them to do.
