Lace up your running shoes and take on one of Shropshire's most popular running events as the Pareto FM Shrewsbury Half & Metric Half Marathon returns on Sunday 27th September 2026.
Starting and finishing at the West Mid Showground, runners can choose between the Half Marathon (13.1 miles) or the Metric Half Marathon (8.1 miles), with both routes taking in some of Shrewsbury's most iconic landmarks. Participants will enjoy a scenic course passing the Welsh and English Bridges, Kingsland, Porthill, Coleham, The Quarry, Frankwell and the town's beautiful medieval centre.
Whether you're chasing a personal best or taking on a new challenge, every entrant will receive a fantastic race package including a technical finisher's t-shirt (with men's and ladies' fit options), a bespoke finisher's medal, free official race photographs, chip-timed results on a measured UKA licensed course, race-day treats at the finish and pacing support to help you achieve your goal. Participants can also choose to plant a tree instead of receiving a finisher's t-shirt.

The event is open to runners aged 17 and over on race day.
Please note there is a strict cut-off time of 2 hours 45 minutes for the Half Marathon and 2 hours 20 minutes for the Metric Half Marathon to allow roads to reopen.
With easy onsite parking, a friendly atmosphere and one of the most picturesque race routes in the region, this is a fantastic event for runners of all abilities.
