Shrewsbury will show its support for the Armed Forces community on Wednesday 4 November 2026, as the town hosts its annual One-Day Poppy Appeal in aid of the Royal British Legion.
Around 200 serving military personnel are expected to visit Shrewsbury town centre, collecting donations and encouraging residents, businesses and visitors to support the Poppy Appeal.
The event takes place between 10am and 3pm, with military displays, live music and opportunities to learn more about the work of the Royal British Legion.
Throughout the day, members of the Armed Forces will be stationed in and around Shrewsbury town centre, collecting donations to support serving personnel, veterans and their families.
Visitors can also enjoy several attractions across the town:
The Square: Meet members of the Royal British Legion Bikers and enjoy music performed by Shrewsbury Brass Band.
The Quarry: See a display of vintage military vehicles.
Town Centre: Meet serving military personnel taking part in the Poppy Appeal collections.
Information Stands: Visit the gazebos in The Square and learn more about the appeal.
The event offers an opportunity for people of all ages to show their appreciation for the Armed Forces community while supporting an important cause.
The Royal British Legion's annual Poppy Appeal raises money to provide practical, financial and emotional support to members of the Armed Forces community.
