Loopfest is one of Shropshire’s most exciting and rapidly growing cultural events, transforming Shrewsbury town centre into a vibrant festival of live music, arts and community spirit. Now entering its fifth year, the three-day festival will take place from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd May 2026, showcasing hundreds of performances across multiple venues throughout the town.
Designed to champion musicians and artists from Shrewsbury, across Shropshire and beyond, Loopfest fills dozens of indoor and outdoor venues — from pubs, cafés and churches to theatres and public spaces — with a diverse mix of genres and creative performances. The festival has grown rapidly since its launch in 2022, regularly breaking footfall records and becoming one of the largest multi-venue festivals in the UK.
Loopfest’s 2026 programme will include approximately 250 acts across around 40 venues, spanning rock, indie, electronic, ska, reggae and more, with performances taking place in locations such as Shrewsbury Castle, St Mary’s Church, The Quarry, Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury Library and many town centre venues.
In addition to headline performances, the festival offers free and ticketed events, community-focused stages, food and drink, and family-friendly activities, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Loopfest also emphasises accessibility, with wheelchair-accessible venues and a significant number of free entry experiences alongside ticketed shows.
Run by Loopfest in the Community CIC, the festival aims not only to entertain but also to support grassroots artists, fund ongoing creative opportunities, and offer youth pathways in areas such as production, events and marketing. Part of its mission is to remove barriers to accessing the arts and to contribute to the cultural life of Shrewsbury and the wider region.
