Things have changed since A Plan has been renamed Howdens ....
Before, the phones used to get answered very quickly and mostly I spoke with people I knew. Today it's the standard music and wait and who knows who you get although they are still professional.
I think there has actually been huge internal changes.
Also, keep getting put on hold (never used to happen before) several times ...beep beep beep beep beep beep .....
Prices have shot up everywhere and I got my quote and decided to look around first. I went back to Howdens within 1/2 hour and the price had gone up again! After a quick chat I got the original lower quote back.
The service is still professional, but that little personal touch has certainly gone ..Such a shame ...

I have used Howden Insurance for 19 years for my commercial van insurance. Sorry that this relationship has ended as I no longer have a van! They have been great for nearly 20 years and I would highly recommend.

I am not normally a review writer, but had to today after service I received from Armina at Howdens.
In January I had a no fault accident that hasn’t yet been settled. All the other brokers had comeback with immovable quotes more than £1800.
Armina took the time to speak directly to the underwriters and explained my circumstances, as a result they agreed to treat the outstanding ding claim as no fault, reducing my quote by over £1k
I cannot thank her and Howdens enough and will definitely go back next year

Once again, my car insurance renewal has gone through smoothly and, as ever, to my satisfaction. The staff at the Hall Green branch are always so helpful and professionally informed. I was concerned that this might have changed for the worse after the change from A Plan to Howden. Thats certainly not the case so far.

An exemplary service when looking for home insurance. Alexandra Novotni, Insurance Consultant, Cheltenham branch was available/ responsive and most helpful finding competitive policies for a slightly niche request of unoccupied property insurance. She answered queries quickly and sought further details/changes sometimes within minutes. Compared to my experiences with large well-known companies or their agents I could not have had a more different experience. No gabbled messages from a call centre with minimum bandwidth and static but a locally-based expert with time for me. Excellent!
