I chose to get other quotes first but the one they had come up with was a similar price and cover. They talked me through the differences and took a little off the one they were recommending to bring it below the competition and keep my business.

This reveiw is both 'in favour' and 'in criticism of the A-Plan Monthly email that I receive.
Generally, there is at least one topic that is of interst, which is good when you consider that you would think that every topic relating to insurance or motoring would have already been covered numerous times. Aparently not.
However, I felt that one item in the September issue was somewhat lacking. The report covered the cost and availability of differing fuels, e.g. petrol/diesel/LPG. However, it took no account of the fact that there are now at least four different types of petrol i.e. E10, E5 (Regular and Super) and Ethanol Free. Now, I have been given to understand that there is a significant business in insuring 'Historic Vehicles', which can be very picky as to which type of petrol is suitable. For example, I run a 1962 Humber Sceptre which will not like E10 petrol and is not too happy on E5 Regular although it will just tolerate E5 Super, it would, however, love Ethanol Free . . . if I could find it. Some indication of where to find these differing grades of fuel, and at what price, would have been more than a little bit interesting.

A-Plan explained about the type of insurance I needed, asking good questions to get the detail needed. hey offered options without pushing them, and the price they came up with was very competitive. For cash flow reasons I wanted to delay payment until closer to the renewal, and they were very good about that. All in all, very pleased.

Company easy to deal with and prices competitive. When I've had questions or doubts they have gone back to the insurers to get clarification. Obviously you can't really know how good a deal you have until you make a claim and I have never made one.
