The hotel is a bit out of the way from town centre .Came by train no taxi at rank.if the hotel could recommend a taxi number on reservation it it would help in this situation.

We use this hotel every time we visit Preston , as always everything was good , staff are very helpful . My only comment would be that the rooms were very hot and the air-conditioning didn't work at first . We informed reception and the Aircon was switched on for a while but went off again when we returned to the room later which made for a very uncomfortable nights sleep .

Centrally located with town centre restaurants and Avenham Park within easy walking distance. Don't ket the exterior of the hotel put you off - has clearly been refurbished inside and rooms were of a good standard. Only complaint was that air con didn't seem to be working properly. Didn't eat there so couldn't comment on that but had a drink in bar which was of a good standard. Will be visiting again in a few weeks and will stay here again.

Not bad at all! Free parking at the hotel. Breakfast, ok, depends on who is in the kitchen. One day, it's amazing the next just ok. Rooms have been refreshed and not bad at all.... tvs need re-tuneing as some channels do not work... Otherwise, ok. Some rooms' aircon are good... others it doesn't work at all? Overall, okay, but a bit pricey...

Comfortable, good restaurant and breakfast but tiny carpark so have to pay £4 a night extra to park in bus station across the road which isn't good seeing as the room was over £120

We stayed in room 618, on the sixth floor. The room was incredibly tidy and modern, our fellow patrons were quiet and respectful. The staff were lovely to deal with, and we had presumably house-keeping everyday, to tidy our bed and provide fresh towels, and biscuits.
It was also quite entertaining to watch the goings on of Preston City centre from the comfort and safety of our room. It's amazing what you can see from that height on a busy night in the city!.
Only negatives were the following:
- Small car park, like seriously. 600 plus rooms, but only like 30 spaces... no good. But I guess there is nothing IHG can do about this, due to land size. The only issue with this, is it forces you to park on the bus station at night, if no spaces are available - and that can be a bit scary, with all the youths roaming there at night, not very safe for patrons.
- We stayed in room 618, and the air conditioning was broken, and the toilet flusher was intermittently difficult to engage.
- Price is a little expensive, it's an extra fifteen pounds for breakfast - we opted for breakfast elsewhere.
- Elevators are shut between 2200 - 0700, you have to catch them from the 1st floor. There was no sign to say this, and on the first night I climbed the six stories a few times - great for your health, but I'm not staying at a hotel for my health benefit. The lifts should be key-card accessed, like the front door is after hours.
