This year three solicitors, practising with leading Shropshire law firm Lanyon Bowdler, have been recognised as ‘Leaders in their Field’ by legal directory Chambers UK.

Joining previously acknowledged partners Peter Flint and Paula Nash is partner and head of the personal injury team, Neil Lorimer.

Neil has specialised in representing claimants in respect of personal injury and clinical negligence claims for many years.  He has acted for a large number of claimants who have suffered serious multiple injuries including acquired brain injury, spinal injury and amputees, subjects in which he has a special interest.  He is on the Law Society's Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury Panels and is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).  Neil is also a member of Headway - the Brain Injury Association Personal Injury Solicitors List.

Neil enters the Chambers UK Directory at Band 2 – just one step away from the very highest recommendation.  The Directory recognises him for his "experience, approach and sensitivity."  Also quoting that “Clients praise his persistence and determination, saying: "He will not rest until he has a winning position."  The head of the personal injury group regularly acts for clients seriously injured abroad.”

Senior partner Peter Flint specialises in all aspects of family law, he is a practising Family Mediator and a trained Collaborative Lawyer.  Peter is a member of Resolution, Family Mediators Association, SALM (Shropshire Association of Lawyer Mediators) and the Law Society Family Law Panel.  Chambers Directory quotes “Peter Flint draws praise for his professional and empathetic approach, and is applauded by one source as "the best divorce lawyer in Shropshire."  In addition to handling ancillary relief proceedings, he is also skilled in cohabitation issues and prenuptial agreements.”

Paula Nash is experienced in dealing with a broad range of medical negligence claims in areas such as Anaesthesia, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology (including cerebral palsy birth injury claims), Paediatrics, Urology, General Surgery, Ophthalmology and Cardiac Surgery.  She has wide ranging trial experience, together with experience of community care law and judicial review applications.  Paula is a member of the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel, and is an APIL Senior Litigator.  Chambers acknowledges “The "absolutely superb" Paula Nash of Lanyon Bowdler Solicitors is widely praised for her "detailed knowledge of clinical negligence" and for the good outcomes she has achieved for clients.  Peers are impressed by the way that she has "transformed" the clinical negligence team at her firm.”

All lawyers who appear in the directory are ranked because of the weight of positive feedback received during research carried out by Chambers into the strengths and reputations of law firms and individuals.

Lanyon Bowdler as a firm is ranked by Chambers UK for its Family/Matrimonial reputation in the Midlands.  The department is “Praised for its continued dedication to publicly funded work, but also undertakes a vast amount of private instructions.  Its broad-based offering includes both matrimonial finance and children work. Sources praise the helpful and approachable outlook of the group across the board.”
