The Penycoed Riding Stables Open Day
16th August 2009
... Comments

On Saturday, we tootled along to Pant, then right up Tregarthen Lane, following the brightly painted signs for Penycoed Riding Stables Open Day.

Once there, you feel transported to a place in-and-of-itself.  The events had already begun, with a wonderful riding exhibition and re-enactment of a Cops & Robbers play.  All the young riders showing great skill in marshalling their horses around the course and ended to great applause from the watching crowd.

We moved on to the stalls of second-hand books and I bought a companion to the Shropshire Union Canal for £1 - bargain! :)  There was a lady selling jewellry, Time Out from Oswestry offering Reiki and Indian Head Massage, Karate demos and a fantastic huge Incredible Hulk bouncy castle from Bounceabout.

There was music throughout the day, and when we were there it was 80's hits including the "2nd most obscure Paul Weller" track - which I can confirm was suitably obscure, and well performed.

The kitchen was none stop too, and I demolished a well-earned sausage butty. :)

Congratulations to Pam for putting together such a great day for all concerned.  Not to mention, all donations going to Riding for the Disabled.

Well done and looking forward to the next one. :)

FANCY A SPOT OF RIDING?

If you want to try your hand at riding why not give Penycoed a call, ring Pam on 01691 830608 - or perhaps you fancy a spot of Pony Trekking in Ceiriog Valley, then call Andy or Sam on 01691 718686.
