The Christmas Retail Experience is a shopping event in Oswestry, on 11th December 2015 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The retail experience will consist of town centre shops remaining open until 8 p.m., a gift wrapping service, Santa’s Grotto, craft stalls, the Twelve Days of Christmas trail for children, live music and much more!

Dozens of town centre businesses will extend their opening hours to 8 p.m. for the event. The town council has offered to loan gazebos to local retailers on the edge of town who want to gain more customers and promote their business.

The event will allow traders to enjoy the full benefit of the event and be able to sell their business to the general public. There are young under-18 musicians with ages ranging who will be performing at the event.

Due to the event taking place, Cross Street will be closed to vehicles until 8pm and this has been approved following talks between Oswestry's Chamber of Commerce and the Highway Agency.

We will delight shoppers and boost custom for local retailers during the crucial Christmas trading period.

Chairman of Oswestry's Chamber, Jools Payne said, The late night shopping event will run separately from the annual Christmas live event.

Anyone wishing to take a stall should contact Neil at the Twelve Green Bottles Wine shop on Leg Street.”
