Project Incredible Edible - Oswestry
5th June 2013
... Comments

St Martins Brownies are about to create an edible garden.  They have the space, the ideas and the enthusiasm...but the site is very overgrown - which is where you could help Incredible Edible help the Brownies!

The St Martins Brownies are organising  a work party - WITH BBQ! - on Saturday 22nd. June and will welcome all volunteers.

The main job is to cut back and clear undergrowth, and to have a good old tidy up of the site - quite heavy work, but do-able with enough willing helpers.

Everyone with a bit of energy to spare is welcome, for all, or part, of the day. If anyone has particular skills with planting/cutting back/managing trees and shrubs please come along if you can; your knowledge would be especially helpful. Advice on, and help with, bird feeders and nest-boxes also welcome.

THE DATE: Saturday, 22nd. June

THE TIME: Meet at 10.30 am

THE PLACE: St. Martins Methodist Church, Ellesmere Road, St. Martins.

DIRECTIONS: Go through St. Martins towards Overton on the B5069 (Overton Road). At the small roundabout just past Stan's Superstore, turn right onto the Ellesmere Road (B5068). A little way along the Ellesmere Road you'll see the church on your right - a cream-coloured building with a grey steeple. Turn into the car-park, on the right, just past the church.

BRING WITH YOU: A tough pair of gloves. Stout boots recommended! Any tools you think will be useful - forks, spades, rakes, secateurs, pruning/bowsaws, etc. (A trailer and 'man-with-chainsaw' is already organised.)

IF YOU CAN JOIN THE PARTY, PLEASE LET INCREDIBLE EDIBLE KNOW by emailing them  at ieoswestry@gmail.com
