This years TAKE 2 THE STREET’s event will be taking place in Oswestry Town Centre on SATURDAY JULY 30TH.
The aim of the event is to promote the diversity and strength of the independent traders in Oswestry, and celebrate what Oswestry has to offer in terms of Retail, Food, Art & Culture. This is a tremendous opportunity for people with a vested interest in Oswestry to pull together with other interested parties to really celebrate, promote, and sell Oswestry as an attractive retail and tourist destination.
Last years event saw live music on the streets, fancy dress parades, a town crier, pirate parties, cooking demos, art on the railings, bicycle smoothie making, magic and trains running on the heritage railways. It is hoped that this event will be just as exciting with more businesses and community groups getting involved.
Last years ‘Spot the Mistake’ window trail was so successful we have decided to run this years for a week from the Saturday 23rd July to Saturday 30th July, this will allow more businesses to take part.
HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED
If you have a town centre business quite simply being open on the day is getting involved, however if you really wish to benefit from the day it is recommended that you put on your own activities or promotions within your business, group together with other business’ to promote one another, or TAKE 2 THE STREETS and show off your product offerings. You know what your business is best at, use this day to shout out about it. If you are an entertainer, artist, or run a business or group in the Oswestry area you can still be involved by ‘TAKING 2 THE STREETS’ and telling us about it.
