Stonehouse Brewery were delighted to win seven awards at the regional SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) awards, held last Friday at Ludlow Castle. The awards included two gold’s; one for Station Bitter and one for Kingston Flyer KPA. Station Bitter was also awarded a Bronze award in the overall competition.

“To have our beer placed 3rd in a competition of over 150 beers is a fantastic achievement,” said Shane Parr of Stonehouse Brewery, “We work very hard to keep our beers consistent and are constantly tweaking the recipes to ensure they taste exactly as they should do. Station Bitter is our flagship brew and we think it tastes better than ever at the moment.”

The beers, from over 50 breweries in the SIBA Wales and West region, were blind judged by a panel of professional brewers and brewing industry experts for the prestigious annual awards.

The Oswestry based brewery was especially pleased to gain a bronze award for their new brew Sunlander.

“We have only just perfected the recipe for the Sunlander, but we are really pleased with how it’s turned out.” Said Shane, “It’s a lovely, light, fresh tasting beer, brewed with Australian hops, and very easy to drink!”
