"Shropshire County Council has £50,000 available to improve the Oswestry Town Green for quiet recreation, a place to picnic, a place for wildlife and birdsong and butterflies and a place for exercise."

The money is available from a government initiative called Playbuilder which encourages children in natural play, climbing on logs and boulders, making dens etc and so whatever we do here has to reflect that natural play."

They ask you to consider the following items:

  • Formal
  • Wildflowers
  • Picnic tables
  • Children's play areas
  • Footpaths
  • Lighting
  • Benches
  • Tree planting
  • Natural
  • Bird boxes

So what do you think?  Let the council know.  To get in touch with them contact:
