Lanyon Bowdler have appointed a new Partner; employment solicitor Christopher Piggott.

Joining the firm from national firm Irwin Mitchell, Christopher has specialised in employment law since qualifying as a solicitor in 1995. He advises corporate plcs, national commercial clients and local SMEs on employment related issues and is the business adviser of choice on TUPE and re-organisational change to a number of UK and international companies.

The legal directories of Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500 describe him as a “bold and sensible adviser who is not afraid to make a tough decision” and someone who is both practical and commercial in his approach.

Christopher is a regular speaker on HR and employment law matters, both in-house to clients and at client hosted events to their customers. He has represented the CBI’s interests in Europe on employment rights in the UK workplace and is an active member of the Institute of Directors, as well as a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

He will be based at Lanyon Bowdler’s Telford offices in Hazledine House. This latest appointment is a further expansion of the employment law department, with partner Will Morse recently joining the team based at the firm’s Hereford offices.

Partner and head of the employment department John Merry said “I am very pleased to welcome Chris; he will be a valuable addition to the team.”
