We’re coming up to Valentine’s Week again. I say week, because like all special days it has extended its wide arms out to cover all possible dates around it so you don’t miss out on lurrrrrve!
Whether you dine out in style, have a quiet and romantic meal in front of the fire, stride across golden (if chilly) hills with a picnic hamper and rug or shower your love one with rose petals, love isn’t just for valentines, its also for Old Oswestry Hillfort.
For those not in the know, Old Oswestry Hillfort, one of the finest iron age hillforts in Europe, is under threat of development around its green skirts. You can read more about it here and here.
Whilst we await to hear the outcome of various appeals against the developer's proposals, we thought it would be nice and friendly like if we showed our appreciation of this beautiful monument by enjoying a Hug on the Hillfort this coming Valentines Day.
I suspect quite a few zillion happily hugging couples have canoodled on Caer Ogyrfan in its long and fabulous history – so throw away your inhibitions, grab your lover by the hand and leg it to Old Oswestry Hill Fort this Valentines Day.
