This Saturday sees the first Oswestry Knitpic in the Park, to join in with knitters around the world by coming out and Knitting in Public, as part of World Wide Knit in Public Day.

World Wide Knit in Public Day was started in 2005 by Danielle Landes and takes place on the second Saturday of June each year. It began as a way for knitters to come together and enjoy each other's company.

Knit in Public Day is unique, in that it's the largest knitter run event in the world. Each local event is put together by a volunteer or a group of volunteers. They each organize an event because they want to, not because they have to. They bring their own fresh ideas into planning where the event should be held, and what people would like to do.

Its not just limited to knitting though – come with the crochet, the cross stitch, the rag rug, bring a picnic and comfy rug and have a great afternoon in the sunshine.

Knitpic in the Park is being organised by Becca Tansley of Alterknitive,  the immensely talented tricoteuse behind the popular Glueing for Grown Ups evenings at the Oswestrian.

Knitpic is happening between 1:pm and 4:00pm in Cae Glas Park.  Head for the bandstand to meet kindred knitters and have a great time.
