How do you decide where to buy from?

If you walked around town, you'd think it was all "discount".  Do we make all our decisions based on price?  Clearly it depends on the individual and individual circumstances, but when you look at your own buying habits, do you always go on price?  And if not, what do you go on?

For example, looking for a plumber to replace a boiler: out of three plumbers, one is the cheapest by far.  What does that tell you?  Do you go with that plumber?  Or do you think they are the cheapest to get the work, because they are not the best, or maybe even competent?

As a customer, we - in general - want good value for whatever we spend, whether it's 80p for a cup of tea, £1.80 for a latte, £300 for some plumbing work, or £4000 for a car...we want to have made a good decision and not to have wasted our money.

The best way of making a good decision is to ask around, to check with other people's experiences, to ask for recommendations.  It's what we do online, it's what we do when going to a new place...we ask others to share their knowledge and experience.

More later on this intriguing topic.

Enjoy your day
