Home Library Service from Oswestry Library

... Comments

The Home Library Service brings books and talking books directly to your home if you are unable to visit the Library.  Do you know someone who might like this service?

Are you entitled to the Home Library Service?

Yes, if you cannot leave your home due to age, disability, illness, or because you are caring for someone else, and there is no-one to go to the library for you.  You may only need the service for a short time, or it could be a longer term.

If you have a friend or relative who would be willing to go to the library for you, then they should ask about a special library ticket, and staff can help to choose books for you.

How much will it cost?

There is no charge for the Home Library Service and there are no charges for overdue requests, or for requests.  There may be a charge for books borrowed from another library service.

How can I get a visit from the Home Library Service?

You, or someone acting on your behalf, can contact your local library, or Senior Librarian for Equal Access.

What will happen then?

Someone from the library will visit and talk to you about the service and find a volunteer to choose and deliver your books.
